Support the The Makunduchi Project

We are delighted to be supporting The Makunduchi Project, and its 50 cylclists riding around Zanzibar this June. The Makunduchi Project (www.makunduchi.com) is a small, but significant project transforming healthcare and a hospital in Zanzibar, particularly saving the lives of many mothers and children.

Zanzibar is known as the ‘Spice Island’ and lies in the Indian Ocean, 6 degrees south of the equator. The white sandy beaches are magnificent and the coral reef creates stunning lagoons – there’s a sense of paradise.

The reality is stark however. Average life expectancy is a staggering 47 years. One in 180 women die during delivery of their child and 1 in 6 children die under the age of 7 with the majority dying when aged less than 2 years.
The Makunduchi Project is about to change this and you can be a part of the solution.

In June 50 supporters are cycling around Zanzibar to raise both awareness and funds for the hospital and its staff. We will be contributing to a much needed maternity ward which will have a major impact on maternal health and survival of both mothers and babies.

Please donate directly to http://www.makunduchiproject.com/Donate or shop at www.ecofashionrocks.com so we can donate more on your behalf.
